Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 5530B10 battery - r+r

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 1032D12 timing system protective cover(s) - r + r

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

- 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R.

- 1092A10 Crankshaft services PULLEY - R.R.

- 1032B10 toothed timing belt - r + r for timing adjustment or replacement

- 1016C10 cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket

- 2110A60 manual gearbox/engine coupling bracket - r+r

- 1020A30 engine oil drain plug - replace

- 1020A20 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application

- 1084B28 engine oil intake pump - r + r with crankcase sump removed

1. Undo the bolts fixing the connecting rod cap.

Refer to op. 1004E20 engine - dismantle and re-build following operation 1004e10 - wash and check dismantled parts - re-fit cylinder head and oil sump - does not include repairs to cylinder head and auxiliary unit

Removing

Proceed with the removal - 1028H10 connecting rod and piston set - r r, bearing in mind to only work on the cylinder involved.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1016A22 cam cover with fuel duct - r + r and replace gasket

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r

- 1092A10 Crankshaft services PULLEY - R.R.

- 1016C10 cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket

- 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r

- 1020A20 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application

- 1084B28 engine oil intake pump - r + r with crankcase sump removed

1. Undo the bolts fixing the connecting rod cap.

This operation cannot be carried out on the vehicle. It is therefore necessary to work with the engine at the bench following the instructions in Refer to op. 1028H14 piston connecting rod set - r r.

Lower the lift.

Remove the piston complete with connecting rod.

Refitting

Proceed with the refitting - 1028H10 connecting rod and piston set - r r, bearing in mind to only work on the cylinder involved.

Lower the lift.

Remove the piston complete with connecting rod.

Refitting

1. Use the tool (1a) and fit the piston (1b) in the cylinder chamber (1b).

Make sure that the arrow, stamped on the piston crown, is facing the timing side and that the number, stamped on the big end, corresponds to the one of the connecting rod cap.

Refitting

Position the connecting rod caps and secure them by tightening the bolts to the recommended torque using the angle wrench.

- 2110A60 manual gearbox/engine coupling bracket - r+r

- 1016C10 cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket

- 1032B10 toothed timing belt - r + r for timing adjustment or replacement

- 1092A10 Crankshaft services PULLEY - R.R.

- 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R.

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1032D12 timing system protective cover(s) - r + r

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1068A10 accelerator pedal control - check, adjust if necessary and lubricate

- 0010T11 engine oil check level and top up

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

Position the connecting rod caps and secure them by tightening the bolts to the recommended torque using the angle wrench.

- 1084B28 engine oil intake pump - r + r with crankcase sump removed

- 1020A20 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application

- 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r

- 1016C10 cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket

- 1092A10 Crankshaft services PULLEY - R.R.

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r

- 5530B10 battery - r+r

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 1016A22 cam cover with fuel duct - r + r and replace gasket

- 0010T20 coolant change

- 0010T11 engine oil check level and top up

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.
