E8010 Diagnostics multiple connector

Description

The car is equipped with numerous self-diagnostic electronic control units.

When a tester (Examiner or other instrument) is connected to the control units, self-diagnostic data can be read (parameters, errors) or active testing can be carried out.

All tester lines are connected to the EOBD (European On Board Diagnosis) connector in line with EC directive 98/69 - ISO standard J1962, centralised on the Body Computer - connector G.

Nodes conected to the network are connected via the B-CAN while the vehicle dynamic control network is tested via special K lines.

The following are controlled via the B-CAN network:

  • underfacia control unit;
  • instrument panel;
  • door control unit;
  • radio or integrated radio-phone-navigation system device;
  • climate control system ECU.

The following are controlled via tester line K:

  • engine management control unit;
  • ABS control unit;
  • Airbag control unit;
  • SELESPEED control unit.

Description of operation

The centralised EOBD tester connector is built into Body Computer M1 - connector G.

It is supplied directly by the battery at pin 16 of the line protected by fuse F2 of engine bay control unit B1 and fuse F39 of underfacia control unit B2; Pins 4 and 5 are earthed.

Pins 1 are connected to the ABS control unit M50 (pin 11) Wiring diagram E7020 ABS via a K line.

Pins 3 are connected to the ABS control unit M60 (pin 9 of connector A) Wiring diagram E7030 AIRBAG via a K line.

Pins 7 are connected to the engine management control unit M10 (pin 53 of connector A) Wiring diagram E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC CONTROL via a K line.

pin 7 is connected to the SELESPEED control unit M54 (pin 49 of connector A) Wiring diagram E7051 ROBOTIZED GEARBOX .

Pins 6 and 14 are connected to the B-CAN network. Underfacia control unit B2, instrument panel E50, door control unit H44, radio P20 and climate control ECU M70 are monitored via this network.

Pins 2 and 10 are supplied for testing via the C-CAN network, which is not used in this version.
