About Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo was founded in Milan in 1910 as A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) and took its present name after Nicola Romeo bought the company in 1915. It became part of Fiat in 1986, and its cars of the 1990s, such as the 145, 146, 155 and 156, share many components with Fiat and Lancia models.
The 145 (three-door) and 146 (five-door) hatchbacks were built from 1994 to 2001. Early cars used the flat-four Boxer engines; from 1997 they used the Twin Spark 16V engines, and diesel versions used the 1.9 TD and later the 1.9 JTD.
