Removing

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 4450B04 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL R R

Op. 7055B91 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER - R.R.

Op. 4410D16 BRACKET (ONE) RETAINING CHASSIS TO BODY - R R

Op. 0010T70 POWER ASSISTED STEERING FLUID - REPLACE

Op. 4130B10 POWER STEERING FLUID RESEVOIR R R

Op. 4130B12 POWER STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR MOUNTING/BRACKETS - POSITION

Op. 5050A12 WINDSCREEN WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR FILLER PIPE (IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT) - R.R.

Op. 4130B20 POWER STEERING PUMP R R

- Remove the protective cap for the alternator electrical connection.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection (1a) and undo the nut fixing the electrical wiring (1b).

2. Move the electrical wiring aside.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1b).

2. Remove the alternator.

Refitting

- Connect the electrical connection and tighten the nut fastening the wiring.

- Position the protective cap for the alternator electrical connection.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Removing

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Op. 4450B04 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL R R

Op. 7055B91 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER - R.R.

Op. 1092G10 SINGLE ENGINE BELT R R

Op. 7055B54 UNDER-ENGINE GUARD - R R

Op. 1084B30 ENGINE OIL FILTER R R

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Place the relay box to the side.

1. Position the general tools (1a) and (1b) on the power assisted steering pipes.

2. Remove the retaining band.

3. Unscrew the connector.

4. Disconnect the power steering pipes and place them at the side.

Remove the protective caps for the alternator electrical connections.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Disconnect the electrical connections.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1b).

2. Remove the alternator.

Refitting

Position the alternator and tighten the retaining bolts.

Pretighten all the bolts to the required torque.

Tighten the bolts to the recommended torque.

Connect the electrical connections.

Position the protective caps for the alternator electrical connections.

Connect the power steering pipes.

Undo the connector for the supply pipe on the power assisted steering box.

Secure the pipe from the power assisted steering reservoir to the pump using the appropriate band.

Remove the general tools positioned previously on the power steering pipes.

Position the relay box.

Tighten the fixing bolts.

Op. 0010T11 ENGINE OIL CHECK LEVEL AND TOP UP

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Connect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Check and, if necessary, top up the power assisted steering system with suitable fluid.

2.2 16V JTD

Removing

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Op. 7055B54 UNDER-ENGINE GUARD - R R

Op. 1084B30 ENGINE OIL FILTER R R

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Place the relay box to the side.

Op. 1080G72 F.A.P. SYSTEM HEAT EXCHANGER AIR SUPPLY HOSE TO THROTTLE CASING - R.R.

1. Position the general-purpose tools (1a) and (1b) on the power assisted steering pipes.

2. Remove the retaining band.

3. Unscrew the connector.

4. Disconnect the power steering pipes and place them at the side.

Remove the alternator electrical connection protective plugs.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Disconnect the electrical connections.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1b).

2. Remove the alternator.

Refitting

Position the alternator in its seat and tighten the bolts.

Pretighten all the bolts to the specified torque.

Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Connect the electrical connections.

Remove the alternator electrical connection protective plugs.

Connect the power steering pipes.

Tighten the fitting on the power steering intake pipe.

Secure the pipe from the reservoir to the power steering pump using an appropriate collar.

Remove the general-purpose tools positioned previously on the power steering pipes.

Position the relay housing.

Tighten the fixing bolts.

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Connect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Check the level and top up the power steering system using appropraite fluid if necessary.

3.0 24V V6

Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 4410D16 BRACKET (ONE) RETAINING CHASSIS TO BODY - R R

- Loosen the fastenings on the power steering pump pulley

Op. 1092C14 POWER STEERING PUMP/SELF LEVELLING SUSPENSION PUMP PULLEY - R + R WITH BELT REMOVED

Op. 5050A10 WINDSCREEN WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR (IN ENGINE BAY) - R+R

Op. 5040A24 AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR - PARTIALLY R.R. FROM THE ENGINE WITHOUT DISCONNECTING THE PIPES

1. Unscrew the air conditioning system compressor upper bolt.

2. Unscrew the bolts securing the alternator to the timing side bracket.

1. Undo nut (1a) and disconnect electrical cable (1b) from the alternator.

2. Prise up the gaiter protecting electrical connection (2a), unscrew the retaining nut and disconnect electrical leads (2b)

3. Undo bolts (3a) securing the alternator to the flywheel end mount and remove alternator (3b) from the engine.

Refitting

- Position the alternator, screw in the bolts securing it to the flywheel side mount and tighten to the specified torque.

- Connect the electrical leads to the alternator, tighten the nut and restore the protective gaiter.

- Connect the electrical lead to the alternator and tighten the nut.

- Tighten the nuts securing the alternator to the timing side bracket and tighten to the specified torque.

- Connect the negative battery terminal.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
