2.4 JTD 20V

Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

See in Op. 1076B20 Rear exhaust SILENCER - R.R.

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Remove the catalytic converter mounting bracket.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Remove the retaining springs fastening the shield to the tank.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

1. Undo the retaining nuts.

2. Remove the side flexible mounting supporting the exhaust pipe.

3. Remove the front heat shield for the exhaust pipe (3a) and the heat shield for the catalytic converter (3b).

Refitting

- Fit the front heat shield for the exhaust pipe and the heat shield for the catalytic converter.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the heat shields.

- Fit the side flexible mounting supporting the exhaust pipe.

- Fit the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the intermediate heat shield.

- Fasten the shield to the tank using the springs.

- Fit the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the rear heat shield.

- Position the catalytic converter reinforcement bracket and tighten the fixing bolts to torque.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

2.4 JTD 10V

Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

See in Op. 1076B20

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the retaining springs fastening the shield to the tank.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the side flexible mounting supporting the exhaust pipe.

3. Remove the front heat shield for the exhaust pipe (3a) and the heat shield for the catalytic converter (3b).

Refitting

- Fit the front heat shield for the exhaust pipe and the heat shield for the catalytic converter.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the heat shields.

- Fit the side flexible mounting supporting the exhaust pipe.

- Fit the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the intermediate heat shield.

- Fasten the shield to the tank using the springs.

- Fit the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the rear heat shield.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

2.0 TB, 2.4 20V

Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the retaining springs fastening the shield to the tank.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the side flexible mounting supporting the rigid section of the exhaust pipe.

3. Release the flexible mountings supporting the flexible centre section of the exhaust pipe.

4. Remove the exhaust pipe front heat shield which is divided into two sections (4a) and (4b).

Refitting

- Fit the exhaust pipe front heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the heat shield.

- Fit the side flexible mounting supporting the rigid section of the exhaust pipe.

- Secure the flexible mountings supporting the flexible centre section of the exhaust pipe.

- Fit the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the intermediate heat shield.

- Fasten the shield to the tank using the springs.

- Fit the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the rear heat shield.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

3.0 V6, 3.2 V6

Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the retaining springs fastening the shield to the tank.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

1. Undo the fixing nuts.

2. Remove the side flexible mounting supporting the rigid section of the exhaust pipe.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe front heat shield which is divided into three sections (3a), (3b) and (3c).

Refitting

- Fit the exhaust pipe front heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the heat shield.

- Fit the side flexible mounting supporting the rigid section of the exhaust pipe.

- Fit the exhaust pipe intermediate heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the intermediate heat shield.

- Fasten the shield to the tank using the springs.

- Fit the exhaust pipe rear heat shield.

- Tighten the nuts fixing the rear heat shield.
