Removing

1. Undo the lower bolt securing the engine oil dipstick tube.

- Lower the lift.

2. Undo the upper bolt securing the engine oil dipstick tube.

3. Release the coupling for the engine wiring from the fastening on the pipe, then remove the engine oil dipstick pipe from the top part of the engine compartment.

Refitting

- Fit the engine oil dipstick pipe.

Replace the rubber seal for the oil dipstick pipe on the sump.

- Secure the coupling for the engine wiring to the press fitting on the engine oil dipstick pipe.

- Tighten the engine oil dipstick pipe lower fixing bolt to torque.

- Tighten the engine oil dipstick pipe upper fixing bolt to torque.

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

- Lower the lift.

1. Undo the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe mounting bracket to the air intake chamber.

2. Extract the engine oil dipstick pipe upwards.

Refitting

- Position the engine oil dipstick pipe in its housing.

- Tighten the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

- Lower the lift.

- Tighten bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe mounting bracket to the intake chamber.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

2.4 20V

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Open the boot, remove the cover on the left hand side and disconnect the negative battery lead.

1. Undo the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

- Lower the lift.

1. Undo the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe mounting bracket to the air intake chamber.

2. Extract the engine oil dipstick pipe upwards.

Refitting

- Position the engine oil dipstick pipe in its housing.

- Tighten the bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

- Lower the lift.

- Tighten bolt fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe mounting bracket to the intake chamber.

- Connect the negative battery lead.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

3.0 V6, 3.2 V6

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the nut fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

1. Remove the engine oil dipstick pipes upwards releasing it from the mounting bracket.

Refitting

- Place the engine oil dipstick pipe back in its housing and fasten it ot the mounting bracket.

- Tighten the nut fixing the engine oil dipstick pipe to the cylinder block/crankcase.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

2.4 JTD 10V

Removing

See in Op. 1016A10

1. Undo the engine oil dipstick pipe upper fixing bolts.

2. Undo the engine oil dipstick pipe lower fixing bolts.

- Open the bands and release the wiring connected to them and release the timing sensor.

3. Remove the engine oil dipstick pipe.

Refitting

- Fit the engine oil dipstick pipe.

Replace the rubber seal for the oil dipstick pipe on the sump.

- Secure the wiring and the timing sensor to the engine oil dipstick pipe.

- Tighten the engine oil dipstick pipe lower fixing bolt to torque.

- Tighten the engine oil dipstick pipe upper fixing bolt to torque.
