GEARBOX/DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKS

2.2 JTS, 3.2 JTS

An oil leak can be seen from the gearbox/differential

Check whether the problem is accompanied by noise from the gearbox with the vehicle stationary and in neutral. Check the transmission fluid level

Op. 0010T41 MANUAL GEARBOX OIL CHECK LEVEL AND TOP UP IF NECESSARY

Move on to Step 1Noise detected from gearbox.

Proceed as instructed in the

See table S022 GEARBOX NOISE - IN NEUTRAL

Level not correct.

Restore the correct level.

Op. 0010T41 MANUAL GEARBOX OIL CHECK LEVEL AND TOP UP IF NECESSARY

and carry out a road test. If the fault persists, move on to Step 1

Wash the gearbox thoroughly, spread with talc and carry out a road test.

Check that there are no leaks.

In particular, check the condition of the gaskets:

- gear input shaft seal;

- rear cover gasket;

- differential oil seal.

Replace the flange

Leaks from right differential oil seal.

Replace the oil seal

Op. 2110D62 RIGHT DIFFERENTIAL SHAFT OIL SEAL - R.R WITH INTERMEDIATE DRIVESHAFT REMOVED

Use talc to check visually that the gear casing is intact.End of diagnosisCasing damaged, with presence of cracks or deformities.

Replace the gear casing, rear cover or entire gearbox
