HANDBRAKE APPLIED WARNING LIGHT

The warning light is on constantly even with the handbrake released.

N.B.: The command to switch on the handbrake warning light is sent by the switch on the lever to the Body Computer Node which makes it available on the B-CAN to the Instrument Panel Node.

Check the insulation to earth of the wiring between the Handbrake lever switch and the Body ComputerMove on to Step 2Wiring not insulated

Restore wiring

Check the condition of the switch on the handbrake leverMove on to Step 3Switch defective

Replace the switch

3ACTIVE DIAGNOSIS CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the Examiner in the Instrument Panel Node ambient check that the handbrake warning light is correctly activated in Active Diagnosis.Move on to Step 61. The handbrake warning light does not flash

5ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the electrical power supply for the Instrument Panel Node is correctMove on to Step 6Electric power supply positive and/or earth faultyReplace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow).
6ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the electrical connections betwen the Body Computer and the Instrument Panel, in particular that each individual pin is correctly connectedMove on to Step 7Electrical connections not workingRenew the damaged electrical connections
7CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Using the Examiner check, in the Body Computer ambient, that there are no errors and that the parameter specified variesMove on to Step 101. Impossible to connect to the Body Computer control unit1. Move on to Step 8
