Removing

- Position the vehicle on the lift.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

1. Release the power assisted steering system pipe from the mountings and move it.

2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and (2b), then remove the lower part (2c) of the protective timing cover.

- Position a hydraulic lift under the engine, timing side.

- Lower the vehicle.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1b), then remove the upper parts (1c) and (1d) of the protective timing cover.

Refitting

- Position the upper parts of the protective timing cover and tighten the fixing bolts.

- Raise the vehicle.

- Position the lower part of the protective timing cover and tighten the fixing bolts.

- Refit the power assisted steering system pipe.

- Connect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 0010T70 POWER ASSISTED STEERING FLUID - REPLACE

Op. 0010T21 COOLANT CHECK DENSITY AND TOP UP IF NECESSARY

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Removing

1. Adjust the plastic clip (1a) and move the power assisted steering fluid reservoir (1b) aside.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the upper reaction rod (1b).

1. Undo the upper bolts fixing the timing side covers.

- Lower the vehicle.

2. Undo the lower bolts fixing the timing side covers.

3. Remove the protective timing covers.

Refitting

- Fit the protective timing covers.

- Tighten the timing cover fixing bolts.

- Fit the upper power unit reaction rod (1a) and tighten the fixing bolts (1b) and (1c) to torque.

- Fit the power assisted steering fluid reservoir in place and restore the fastening.

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Raise the vehicle.

- Lower the vehicle.

1. Undo the fixing bolts and remove the upper timing belt guard.

Refitting

- Fit the upper timing belt guard.

- Raise the lift and fit the lower timing belt guard.
