DIPPED HEADLIGHTS - DESCRIPTION

1.4 8v, 1.6 16v, 1.3 JTD 16V, 1.9 JTD 8V · from 12/03 · MY 2005

The vehicle is equipped with two specific dipped beam headlamps.

The dipped beams are activated by turning a wheel on the stalk switch to the next position after the side light setting (second position).

The dipped beams stay on even with the main beams on and are turned off by turning on the fog lamps.

The vehicle offers a follow me home function.

This strategy allows the dipped beams to be kept on even with the ignition off for a preset time (within two minutes of turning off the engine).

This function is particularly useful, for example, after parking the vehicle in a garage or poorly-lit places/areas.

The function is activated by means of the left steering wheel stalk (light flasher): each time the stalk is operated, activation of the dipped beams is extended by 30 seconds for up to 5 minutes, after which they turn off automatically.

The circuit is protected by two special fuses: one for the right headlamp and one for the left.

The dipped beam circuit also enables the operation of certain other functions, e.g. rear fog lamp activation and headlamp alignment control.
