PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WATER PENETRATION, REAR AREA

After rain or washing, water infiltration into the rear part of the passenger compartment is noticed.

1CHECK FOR INFILTRATIONS THROUGH THE REAR SCREENALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check for sealant on the rearscreen

See Test 7035OA Check fixed window glass penetration (windscreen and rearscreen)

Move on to Step 2Sealant missing.

Restore the sealant

Op. 7035B04 REAR WINDSCREEN - ELIMINATE LEAKS

2REARSCREEN CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check the rearscreen

In particular, visually check:

  • glass condition;
  • flatness of contact surface.
Move on to Step 3Faults in rearscreen.

Replace the rearscreen

3BOOT SEAL CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check the boot seal.

In particular, make sure:

  • there are no kinks in the seal;
  • the seal is intact.
Move on to Step 4Seal installation faulty

Refit the seal correctly

4CHECK BOOT ALIGNMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check boot door installation.

In particular, check:

  • correct door/compartment alignment
  • seal adheres correctly to the door.
End of diagnosisFaults in boot lid installation.

Refit the boot lid correctly.
