STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATIONS

When the brake pedal is depressed slightly (even with the brakes cold) at average speed, the steering wheel and the brake pedal vibrate.

1CHECK THE WHEEL STUD TIGHTENINGALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the wheel studs are correctly fastenedMove on to Step 2Incorrect tightnessTighten the wheel studs correctly.
2CHECK FRONT DISCSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check the following, in order:

  • condition;
  • changes in thickness;
  • irregular disc wear.
Move on to Step 3Front discs worn irregularly or damaged.

Regrind the discs or, if necessary, replace them

3CHECK ON PAD SURFACES CONDITIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check:

  • pad brake surface intactness;
  • that the pads are not worn.
End of diagnosis1. Brake surfaces vitrified or with traces of grease, oil or water1. Clean again, check and remove the causes of the fault
2. Front pads worn (reduced pad compressibility)

2. Replace the front pads
