CLUTCH NOISY

Noise (creaking) is heard when the clutch pedal is operated

1.9 JTD 8V, 1.9 JTD 16V

0PRELIMINARY CHECKSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the engine idling and the gearbox in neutral, press the clutch pedal fully down and see whether the noise disappears. Then, with the engine running and the handbrake on to lock the wheels, engage first gear and release the clutch to see whether the noise disappears.Move on to Step 11. The noise disappears with the clutch pressed

Check the condition of the thrust bearing: it should not be wornMove on to Step 2Bearing fault.

Replace the thrust bearing.
