E3010 Horns
Description
The car is fitted with a horn system which consists of two horns with different tones: a high tone and a low tone horn. Both horns are activated simultaneously.
The horns are operated by pressing the sides of the steering wheel cover (Air Bag).
The horn circuit is protected by a special fuse and controlled by a specific relay located in the junction box.
For safety reasons, the horns can be operated at any time, even when the key is turned to OFF (or removed).
Description of operation
The horn system is supplied through the horn relay R2, located in the junction unit B1 from the direct line through the fuse F13 - always for B1 - and the maxifuse J/B1 of B5 up to 2/99 or B99 from 2/99.
The coil of the relay R2 is energized by an earth signal when one of the steering switches is closed; these switches are connected via the clock spring to the stalk unit H5. The relay thereby supplies the high tone horn P10 and the low tone horn P11.
