Tailgate - adjust centring and profile - includes hinge and compartment seal adaptation

Operation 7015A14 · Tailgate assembly

Lift the tailgate.

1 If necessary adjust the buffer blocks.

2 If necessary adjust the position of the lock striker.

Refer to op.. 7015A10 Tailgate - adjust striker and adapt seal if necessary .

If the adjustments described above are insufficient, adjust the tailgate hinge position as described below.

1 Loosen the tailgate bolts and adjust the tailgate position, using the slotted holes on the hinges.

NOTE: The arrows indicate possible movements.

2 - Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Screw M6 – Tail gate housing compartment 2: 0.75 daNm

If necessary, adjust the position of the lock striker (see op. 7015A10).

If this adjustment is not sufficient, proceed as follows:

Refer to op.. 7040L40 Front compartment scuff strip - r r

Refer to op.. 7050A22 Rear seat cushion - r+r

Refer to op.. 7040H42 Rear pillar trim - r r (left and right sides)

Refer to op.. 7065C30 Interior l/h or r/h grab handle (one) - r+r (rear)

3 Slightly lower the ceiling trim (3a) and slacken the hinge bolts (3b). Adjust the tailgate position.

NOTE: The arrows indicate possible movements.

Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Bolt M8 – Tail-gate hinges: 3 daNm

If necessary, renew the sealant between the bodyshell and hinges.

If necessary, adjust the position of the lock striker (see op. 7015A10).

Refer to op.. 7040H42 Rear pillar trim - r r (left and right sides)

Refer to op.. 7050A22 Rear seat cushion - r+r
