CLIMATE CONTROL TOO COLD

The control button operates the passenger compartment air fan normally, but the temperature of the air is not correct.

Results of the tests
0PRELIMINARY CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the evaporator air filter is not blockedContinue to Step 1Evaporator air filter blockedReplace the evaporator filter
1CHECKING SYSTEM PRESSUREAll OKProblems metOperation
Connect the climate control system to the repressurizing equipment and check the system pressure. See Test 5040A CHECK ON OPERATION OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (TEMPERATURE)Continue to Step 2

System pressure incorrect.

Coolant pressure too low or too high

Restore correct system pressure Op. 5040A10restoring the correct coolant level
2CHECKING WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems metOperation

Connect the diagnostic equipment and check for errors:

  • in air mixing motors
  • in treated air sensors
  • in frost sensor
Continue to Step 4Air mixing motor error.Continue to Step 3
Air mixing motor error.Continue to Step 3
Air mixing motor error.Continue to Step 3
3ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation

Check continuity/insulation of electrical connection:

  • for air mixing motors if there is an error at the mixing motors;
  • for the treated air sensors if there is an error at the treated air sensor;
  • for the frost sensor if there is an error at the frost sensor.
Continue to Step 7Electrical conection broken or not insulated.Restore electrical connection continuity/insulation.
4CHECKING PIPES AND FILTERAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that high and low pressure pipes and the drier filter for air conditioning system are not blocked.Continue to Step 5Pipe from compressor to condenser blocked.Change the pipe from compressor to condenser Op. 5040A50
Pipe from filter to expansion valve blocked.Change the pipe from filter to expansion valve Op. 5040S54
Drier filter blocked and/or damaged.Replace the filter Op. 5040A44
5CONDENSER CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the condenser is not blocked.Continue to Step 6Condenser blockedReplace the condenser Op. 5040A40
6EXPANSION VALVE CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the expansion valve is working properlyContinue to Step 8Expansion valve stuck closed.Replace the expansion valve Op. 5040B30
7CHECKING CORRECT OPERATION USING TESTERAll OKProblems metOperation

Check for persistent errors:

  • at the air mixing motors (after self-learning procedure);
  • in treated air sensors
  • in frost sensor
End of diagnosisAir mixing motor errorReplace the mixed air motor
Treated air sensor errorChange the treated air sensor Op. 5010D28
Frost sensor errorChange the frost sensor Op. 5040A22
8CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONAll OKProblems metOperation
