AIR BAG ECU - R+R

Operation 5580C14 · AIR BAG SYSTEM

Before removing and refitting the Air Bag control unit the following preliminary operations must be carried out: (1) place the ignition key in the OFF position and extract it; (2) wait for 2 minutes before continuing; (3) remove the battery compartment cover, disconnect the negative battery terminal and insulate the leads; (4) wait for 5 minutes before continuing.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (see assembly 5580C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).

Removing

Op. 7065C56 ODDMENT COMPARTMENT UNDERNEATH FRONT SEATS - R.R.

Op. 7045A10 L/H OR R/H FRONT SEAT (ONE) - R+R

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Open the top lid.

3. Raise the front floor

4. Unscrew the fastenings.

5. Remove the lower cover.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and disconnect the electrical connection (1b).

2. Undo the fixing nuts

3. Disconnect the electrical connection.

4. Remove the Air Bag control unit.

Refitting

Handle the Air Bag control unit very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.

- Position the Air Bag control unit.

- Tighten the retaining nuts.

- Connect the electrical connection.

- Connect the electrical connection and tighten the fixing bolt.

- Raise the rear floor

- Fit the lower cover.

- Tighten the fastenings.

- Close the top lid.

- Tighten the retaining bolts.

Op. 7065C56 ODDMENT COMPARTMENT UNDERNEATH FRONT SEATS - R.R.

- Connect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- Check the operation of the system using the Examiner or other diagnostic equipment.
