CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

The cylinder head is one-piece in aluminium alloy and silicone.

The four valves per cylinder are fitted in guides arranged in a V at an angle of 47° and controlled by two camshafts via hydraulic tappets.

There is a calibrated jet (1) fitted in the cylinder head for the lubrication of the high pressure fuel pump coupling.

The arrangement of the spaces allows the combustion chamber to house:

• the four valve heads;
• the spark plug opening;
• the injector opening;

with the advantage of improving the thermal efficiency of the engine and reducing harmful exhaust emissions.

The valve guides are an interference fit in the cylinder head seats.

A special reamer is used to produce the correct inner diameter after fitting.

The gasket between cylinder head and crankcase is metal and the head does not require retightening throughout the engine life.

The arrangement of the spaces allows the combustion chamber to house:

• the four valve heads
• the opening for the centre spark plug
• the opening for the side spark plug

with the advantage of improving the thermal efficiency of the engine and reducing harmful exhaust emissions.

The valve guides are an interference fit in the cylinder head seats.

A special reamer is used to produce the correct inner diameter after fitting.

The gasket between cylinder head and crankcsae is metal and the head does not require retightening throughout the engine life.

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

They the monolith type, compact and made from light aluminium and silicon alloy.

The four valves per cylinder are fitted in guides arranged in a V at an angle of 37° and controlled by two camshafts via hydraulic tappets.

The camshafts rotate on four supports and are operated by means of a toothed belt.

The valve guides are an interference fit in the cylinder head seats. A special reamer is used to produce the correct inner diameter after fitting.

1.9 JTD 16V

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

The cylinder head is one-piece in aluminium alloy and silicone.

Two, ductile cast iron, overhead camshafts in a camshaft housing; they are operated by a belt and gears.

The four valves per cylinder, parallel and vertical, are positioned in the valve guides and are controlled by rocker arms operated by the camshaft cams and kept in contact with the valves through hydraulic tappets.

The valve guides are an interference fit in the cylinder head seats. A special reamer is used to produce the correct inner diameter after fitting.

Unlike cylinder heads with prechamber, the entire combustion process takes place in the combustion chamber on the piston.

The gasket between cylinder head and crankcsae is metal and the head does not require retightening throughout the engine life.
