RADIO - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Radio P20 is supplied directly (4 of connector A) from the battery via the line of fuse F23 of the engine compartment junction unit B1.

Pin 8 of connector A is earthed.

Pins 1 and 3 of connector A receive the CAN line by which the radio P20 is connected to the Body Computer M1 and the other system nodes.

The radio P20 is connected, via the CAN, to the radio controls on the steering wheel, via the clock spring D47.

See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES

The following cables with signals for the speakers leave connector B of P20:

- pins 5 and 6 to the left front speakers P35 and P45 (P36 for right hand drive versions);

- pins 3 and 4 to the left front speakers P36 and P46 (P35 for right hand drive versions);

- pins 7 and 8 to the left rear speaker P30;

- pins 1 and 2 to the right rear speaker P31;

The aerial P25 is connected to the radio by means of the special coaxial cable.

A connection lead runs from connector E of P20 to CD player P75: this cable, is divided into two sections: one under the dashboard and one under the passenger compartment lining (coupling D96).

Connect Nav+

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Radio P20 is supplied directly (7 of connector A) from the battery via the line of fuse F23 of the engine compartment junction unit B1.

The radio P20 receives an ignition-operated (INT) power supply (pin 4 of connector A) via the line for fuse F49 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.

- pins 7 and 8 to the left rear speaker P30;

- pins 1 and 2 to the right rear speaker P31.

The aerial P25 is connected to the radio by means of the special coaxial cable.

A connection lead runs from connector E of P20 to CD player P75: this cable, is divided into two sections: one under the dashboard and one under the passenger compartment lining (coupling D96).

The amplifier P70 receives a direct supply from the battery - at pin 1 - via the line for fuse F54 of the fuse box in the boot B45; pin 2 of amplifier P70 is earthed.

Pin 6 of P70 is connected via a line to radio P20 - pin 6 of connector C - which supplies a positive signal to enable the amplifier to be switched on.

The cables with signals for the speakers leave from connector B of P20; these signals are sent to the BOSE amplifier P70 which controls the actual speakers:

- pins 5 and 6 of P20 to pins 7 and 19 of P70 and to the left front speakers P35 (P36 for right hand drive versions) and P45 - pins 31 and 32 of P70;

- pins 3 and 4 of P20 to pins 8 and 20 of P70 and to the left front speakers P36 (P35 for right hand drive versions) and P46 - pins 26 and 27 of P70;

- pins 7 and 8 of P20 to pins 9 and 21 of P70 and to the left rear speaker P30 - pins 4 and 16 of P70;

- pins 1 and 2 of P20 to pins 10 and 22 of P70 and to the right rear speaker P30 - pins 5 and 37 of P70;

The other signals leaving the BOSE amplifier P70 control the specific speakers:

- centerfill P32 - pins 3 and 15 of P70;

- subwoofer P49 - pins 11, 12 and 25 of P70; the subwoofer P49 is also supplied via the line for fuse F61 of the fuse box in the boot B45.

The aerial P25 is connected to the radio by means of the special coaxial cable.

A connection lead runs from connector E of P20 to CD player P75: this cable, is divided into two sections: one under the dashboard and one under the passenger compartment lining (coupling D96).
