E3076 Electrically-adjustable seats (Front Air BagSide)

Description

On the version with RECARO seats, where Side Bags are fitted, the mechanical device for adjusting the lumbar support cannot be housed; This adjustment is therefore carried out by a special electric motor operated by a switch on the outside of the actual seat.

The circuit is protected by a fuse controlled by the seat heater relay.

The lumbar adjustment can only be made with the ignition switched ON.

Description of operation

The optional services relay J60 controls the heating circuit for the seats as well as the electric rear windows and sun roof: Wiring diagram E3060 SUN ROOF , Wiring diagram E3051 REAR WINDOW MECHANISM , Wiring diagram E3075 HEATED SEATS ).

The coil for relay J60 is energized when the ignition is switched on (INT/A) by the line for fuse F6 of supplementary fuse box B98 B, whilst the supply at the relay contact arrives from the battery, through the line for maxifuse J/B2 of B99.

This supply passes through fuse B20 which guarantees the protection of the circuit and reaches the switch on the seat via the connection D70: the supply for the device is therefore controlled by the ignition (INT/A); and is also connected to earth C20.

When the switch on the seat is pressed, command signals (positive and negative) are sent to the motor N38: reversing the signals according to the contact which is closed determines the direction of the rotation of the actual motor.
