Removal

1 Check that the negative battery terminal is not disconnected.

2 Disconnect the electrical earth lead at the negative battery terminal.

3 Disconnect the electrical earth connection at the chassis.

Component C3A Battery earth on bodyshell 3

4 Disconnect the electrical earth connection on the power unit.

Component C2 Battery earth on engine 4

5 Remove the battery earth lead.

Refitting

Check that the battery earth lead is not damaged and that the individual conductors are firmly attached to the connections.

If necessary, check the continuity.

Position the battery earth lead.

Connect the earth connection to the power unit.

Nut M8 – Earth on power unit: 1.5 daNm

Connect the earth connection on the bodyshell.

Bolt M8 – Earth on bodyshell: 2.4 daNm

Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
