GENERAL REMARKS - COMPARTMENT COVERS

WARNINGS

When working on the compartment covers, follow these precautions:

• When working on the hinges, take care not to damage the paintwork.
• After an adjustment to a door that has involved moving the hinges, the paintwork must be renewed in the hinge area.
• Work carefully on the fittings and use the recommended tools correctly to prevent damage.

PRECAUTIONS

Before working on the electrical system (connectors, electrical components, wiring etc.), always DISCONNECT THE BATTERY.

If the battery is disconnected the Steering Lock Node remains in the condition (unlocked or locked) that it is in: during workshop operations and repairs, whenever it is necessary to turn the steering wheel with the battery disconnected, leave the TEG inserted when the battery is disconnected. The steering will therefore remain released and free to turn.

INITIALISIATION PROCEDURE FOR DOOR NODES

Following a power supply failure to the control units (for example, battery disconnection) the system must be initialized once again, following the instructions below and working with the ignition key ON (TEG inserted) and the doors and windows closed.

- completely open the driver''s door window, keeping the operating button pressed for at least 3 seconds after the (lower) end of travel position

- completely close the driver''s door window, keeping the operating button pressed for at least 3 seconds after the (upper) end of travel position

- carry out the same operations for the passenger window

- make sure that the initialization is correct by checking that the windows work properly in automatic mode.

Always move the covers with the help of an assistant.
