Description
The following diagram shows the various earths on the vehicle, and the circuits connected to each are indicated.
It is thus easy to identify the circuits which are connected to earth from the same line; this facilitates fault finding if a problem involves more than one function: for example, the corrosion of one earth could put different circuits and several functions out of action at the same time.
Description of operation
The car earth points are subdivided according to the wiring to which they are connected, as follows:
- battery negative wiring C1 C10 C
- crossmember wiring C11
- front wiring C10 A C10 B
- engine wiring (petrol version) C40 A C40 B C40 C.
- dashboard wiring C20 A
- rear wiring C20B C30 C31.
- rearscreen negative wiring (saloon) C32
- right tailgate wiring(Sportwagon) C29.
- Air Bag wiring C50
- ABS wiring C1 B C12 C41.
