About Vauxhall

Vauxhall began in 1857 as a pump and marine-engine maker in Vauxhall, London, built its first car in 1903 and moved to Luton in 1905. General Motors bought it in 1925 and owned it for 92 years, until it was sold to PSA (now Stellantis) in 2017.

Same car, different badge

Since around 1980 Vauxhalls have been engineered alongside Opels, mainly in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Each model here is an Opel with a different badge, so Opel-listed procedures and parts usually match. Always check the engine code and year.

  • Astra F, G, H, J are the Opel Astra. The Astra H was also sold in North America as the Saturn Astra (2008–09).
  • Nova is the first-generation Opel Corsa; Corsa B, C, D are the Opel Corsa.
  • Omega B is the Opel Omega B, sold in the US as the Cadillac Catera (1997–2001).
  • Vectra B is the Opel Vectra B.
