About Mercedes-Benz

The Mercedes-Benz brand dates from 1926. Its parent company bought Chrysler in 1998, ran as DaimlerChrysler, and sold Chrysler again in 2007, which is why some Chrysler and Dodge models here use Mercedes parts.

Find your chassis code

The first three digits of the number in brackets in each manual title are the chassis series, so "(124.052)" is a W124. This matters most for the older series names: the 300 Series manuals here cover six different chassis.

• 201: the 190 (1983–1993). 124: the mid-size range of 1984–1997, later called the E-Class.
• 140: the S-Class of 1991–1998; its coupé became the CL-Class in 1996.
• 129: the SL of 1988–2001. 170: the first SLK (1996–2004), on a shortened C-Class platform.
• 163 and 164: the first and second M-Class; the 164 shares most parts with the GL-Class.

• Sprinter was also sold as the Dodge and Freightliner Sprinter.
• The Chrysler Crossfire uses the 170 (SLK) platform, and the Chrysler 300's rear suspension comes from the 211 E-Class.
