About Eagle

Chrysler created the Eagle brand after buying American Motors in 1987, taking the name from AMC's four-wheel-drive Eagle of 1980, which has been called the first modern American crossover. Aimed at enthusiasts and sold as more "European", Eagle was sold mostly through former AMC dealers alongside Jeep until 1998. Its Premier, developed by AMC with Renault, was the basis for Chrysler's LH cars.
