About Daewoo
Daewoo Motors was a South Korean car maker that began in 1937 as National Motors and took the Daewoo name in 1982. Its first car of its own design, the Lanos, arrived in late 1997. After financial trouble it sold most of its assets to General Motors in 2002, and in 2011 it became GM Korea, with Daewoo cars rebadged as Chevrolets.
