Pre-tensioners

Pretensioners are pyrotechnic devices which can be electrically activated by a signal coming from the electronic control unit integrated in the front seat belt reel.

They intervene, in the case of an impact of a certain magnitude, to recover the inevitable extension of the belts due to the action of the body weight, keeping the body close to the seat backrest.

At the end of the operation, the belt remains locked, thereby signalling that the device has been operated.
